The Dão is one of Portugal’s oldest and most prestigious wine regions, nestled between the mountains of Caramulo, Buçaco and Estrela. RED WINE CAMINHOS CRIZADOS CLANDESTINO Grape Varieties: Syrah 70%, Merlot 30% Harvest 2021 Alcohol by volume 13% Appellation IVV, Portugal Tasting notes Ruby in colour, this wine has an exuberant aroma of black fruit, with slight hints of spice. On the palate, it has a soft texture with velvety tannins, making it a very elegant wine. Food Pairing Oven-baked codfish, white meats, soft cheeses. Vinification The two grape varieties were manually harvested and were vinified together in stainless steel vats, both of them having different degrees of maturation to achieve the perfect balance. The fermentation was conducted at a controlled temperature of around 24 ºC and soft reassembles in order to privilege the elegance of the tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine aged in stainless steel vats. Vineyards Vineyards that surround Adega da Teixuga, planted at 420 meters, south-facing, with of 8 years. Winemaker Carla Rodrigues, Carloto Magalhães e Manuel Vieira WHITE WINE CAMINHOS CRUZADOS TEIXUGA Grape Varieties: Majority of Encruzado with other varieties from old vineyards. Harvest 2019 Alcohol by volume 14% Appellation Dão DOP, Portugal Tasting notes Straw yellow colour. Great intensity, revealing aromatic complexity that is due to its particular aging conditions. The superior integration of the aromas that come from French oak, where it ages, stand out. Intense attack, voluminous, revealing a crisp acidity but very well integrated. The ending is long and memorable. Food Pairing Roasted goat, oven-roasted codfish and soft cheeses. Vinification Born from a unique lot, this great wine matured for 34 months in French oak barrels, and during the ageing,“batonnage” was made periodically in order to obtain the total integration between wine and barrels, revealing all the structure and complexity this Dão queen variety is famous for. After bottling, the wine matured for around 7 months in the bottle. Character, elegance and boldness are what define this Teixuga white. Vineyards Old vineyards from Quinta da Teixuga. Aging 34 months in new and used French oak barrels with periodic “bâtonnage”. After bottling, it aged for around 7 months.
